Frequently Asked Questions
Here are answers to some of the questions I hear most often. If you don't see what you're looking for, a Discovery Call is a great place to ask.
-
Home-based primary care brings comprehensive medical care to you or someone you love in the comfort of home. By seeing individuals where they live, I'm able to better understand their health, daily routines, home environment, and the goals that matter most to them.
-
Lōkahi is designed for older adults and adults with complex health needs who value personalized, relationship-based primary care. It may also be a good fit for families looking for an experienced healthcare partner to help navigate changing health needs with confidence.
-
Family members and loved ones are often an important part of the healthcare journey. Whether you live nearby or across the country, I welcome your involvement and value your insights. Together, we can make thoughtful decisions that support the individual's goals and well-being.
-
The first visit is about getting to know you—or someone you love. We'll review health history, medications, current concerns, and medical goals. I'll also take time to understand daily routines, the home environment, and what matters most to the person I'm caring for. If family members or loved ones are involved, I welcome their questions and perspectives. They are often an important part of understanding the whole picture. Together, we'll begin developing a personalized care plan that reflects the individual's health needs, values, and goals.
-
Lōkahi is a private membership practice and does not bill Medicare or commercial insurance for membership fees. You or your loved one may continue to use Medicare or other insurance for covered services such as specialist visits, hospital care, laboratory testing, imaging, medications, home health, hospice, and other eligible healthcare services. I'm happy to answer questions about how the membership practice works during your Discovery Call.
-
Lōkahi currently provides home-based primary care in select communities on Oʻahu. If you're unsure whether your location is within the service area, please reach out. I'd be happy to discuss whether my practice is the right fit for your needs.
-
Many individuals and families ask that same question. You don't have to wait for a crisis to seek additional support. In fact, some of the most valuable conversations happen before urgent decisions need to be made. A Discovery Call is simply an opportunity to discuss your situation, ask questions, and determine whether Lōkahi is the right fit. There's no obligation—just a conversation.
-
The first step is scheduling a Discovery Call. We'll talk about your healthcare needs—or those of someone you love—answer your questions, and discuss whether Lōkahi is the right fit. If we decide to move forward together, we'll schedule your initial home visit and begin building a relationship centered on thoughtful, personalized care.
